Block drafts of cold air around your doors
The edges of doors are often poorly sealed, allowing cold air to seep into your warm home. If you can't install weatherstripping right away, you can temporarily block cold air drafts with rolled-up towels.
How it works: Roll up towels and push them against the bottom of exterior doors during the colder months to prevent heat loss. Towels are a cheap and simple temporary solution.
Go the extra mile: The best long-term solution is to install permanent weatherstripping wherever it's needed. Ask your landlord to install a door sweep or threshold that seals properly.
